POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS

There has not been enough information provided to the public to aware them of the health related issues the media causes. Many young women are suffering from bulimia, depression, binge-eating, obesity, and other eating disorders because of the media. The more addicted we tend to become to media, the increase in health-related issues. Throughout time, the ones to be impacted most will be the future generation to come such as the children of us millennials. It is time for society to try and change what is considered the norm and acceptable in society to help prevent an increase in health-related issues in the future generations. Companies need to have diversity and a variety of people promoting their products meaning more people with different body types rather than the usual slim, long legged models we see.

Instead of the media glorifying when a celebrity has lost weight, there should be more information on nutrition, marathons, or even recipes to foods that are good to our health. There should be awareness on the effect of media on our health especially women. Awareness will help parents not let their child go down the path of wanting to feel acceptable in society and help parents teach their child that everyone is perfect in their own way. People need to start to grasp the idea that no person should want do look or be another person; instead, they should want to be the best of themselves not in comparison to another.

A way this can be helped is by companies that advertise clothing or materialistic artifacts, should have a variety of different body types and images. The diversity will create more of a feeling of acceptance because now people they, especially young girls, see on television are just as they are. More people becoming aware can help future generations when exposed to more media and technological advances and can also help target big companies who refuse to use a variation of woman body types. Companies can understand the situation occurring and how it affects thousands upon millions of people and possibly change the way they incorporate people for advertisements. Will these changes work? It can be a possible source of decreasing future health issues in generations to come and will cause a spread of awareness to help those in need.
